Roger M. Stalnaker, 83, of New Freeport, died suddenly on Friday, April 23, 2021.
He was born January 29, 1938, at Morgantown, WV, a son of the late Walker Stalnaker and Mabel Morford Stalnaker.
Roger was a timber cutter and a logger. He worked most of his life in the woods. He was a member of the NRA. He loved to go cruising in his antique cars and he loved to attend car shows.
He formerly attended the Grandview United Methodist Church at Garrison which is now closed.
Surviving is a son, Roger Stalnaker, II of Aleppo; two daughters, Lisa Metz of New Freeport and Christine Stalnaker of Waynesburg; a brother, Larry Stalnaker of Charleston; and a sister, Patricia Johnston of Point Arena, Calif.; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louella Peterson Stalnaker; a daughter, Ann Marie Stalnaker; and two sisters, Kathryn Clelland and Mary Jennewine.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Centennial Cemetery near Aleppo, PA.
