William G. Jablonsky
William “George” Jablonsky, of Joffre, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021, in Donnell House hospice, just months after his 90th birthday. George, also known as Jabo, was born April 13, 1931, in McKees Rocks, a son of the late Michael J. and Anna Mastilak Jablonsky.
Mr. Jablonsky attended Business Training College of Pittsburgh before working as a statistical clerk for Blue Cross. He later became a tax assessor for Washington County and eventually went to work for P.C. Campana, Inc. He also spent time as a security guard before finally retiring.
In his prime, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf, often with his friend, Pete Chvostal. George was an excellent cook who enjoyed making cabbage rolls and pizza using ingredients from his garden. He loved working crossword puzzles and watching cowboy movies. Throughout his life he was an avid reader making frequent trips to the McDonald and Burgettstown libraries, where he enjoyed camaraderie with the staffs.
George was proud of the family he created with his wife of 61 years, JoAnn E. Gobleck Jablonsky, who survives. He is also survived by his children, Jacqueline (Scott) Skiple, Nettie Jablonsky and William (Robin) Jablonsky; along with six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews, including Mark Fusina.
George was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
