Eva Mae Coffman
Eva Mae Coffman, 81, of Houston, went to be with her Lord Friday, August 13, 2021, in Concordia Hospice of Washington, Donnell House.
She was born December 27, 1939, in Alexander, W.Va., a daughter of Edward and Zella Golden Crawford.
Mrs. Coffman spent much of her life in Pittsburgh until moving to Houston in 1989. She was a 1958 graduate of Carrick High School.
Eva had worked as a teacher’s aide at the former Bethel Christian Academy, as a bank teller and for more than 15 years at Allegheny General Hospital, where she had worked in the dietary department, central processing and operating room support until her health forced her retirement.
She was a member of the South Hills Assembly of God, with prior memberships at North Side Evangelical Temple, Pentecostal Evangelical Church and Bethel Assembly of God, all in Pittsburgh.
Eva loved pets and rescuing anything that might show up at her door.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth David Coffman of Houston; a daughter, Amy Lynn Swan and her husband, Bruce of Wrentham, Mass.; a granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Swann; three brothers, John Crawford (Marcia) of Roanoke, Va., Edward Crawford (Sandy) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Ronald Crawford (Debbie) of Dallas, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Joan Edgar and her husband, John “Jack” are deceased.
A memorial service will be held at a time to be determined. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.
