Lois J. Greineisen
Lois J. Greineisen, 75, of Canonsburg, formerly of McMurray, died Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in her home.
She was born May 25, 1946, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Walter and Genevieve Hultz Hays.
Mrs. Greineisen was a 1964 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School.
She had worked for the former American Motors in Warrendale, as a CNA for Washington Hospital, and in the gift shop at Cracker Barrel in Washington.
Lois loved animals and regularly donated to the ASPCA, World Wildlife Fund and Pet Search. She also donated often to the Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
On November 8, 1979, she married John R. Greineisen, who died April 10, 2001.
Surviving are a son, Harry M. “Butch” Young III, of Canonsburg; a daughter, Amanda Greineisen (Steven Bing) of Houston; three grandchildren, Samantha Young (Corey Brooks), Tessa Kovatch and Riley Bing; three great-grandsons, Damian, Sebastian and Jackson; her former daughter-in-law, Rosemarie Young of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Friday, December 3, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Coraopolis.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224 or Pet Search of Washington, P.O. Box 1653, Washington, PA 15301.
