Irene Douglas
Irene Douglas, 61, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 5, 2021.
She was born in Charleroi, on May 28, 1960, a daughter of the late Cono and Stella Pezzino. She graduated from Charleroi Area High School, class of 1978.
Irene was a faithful member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Canonsburg, where she was the Youth Coordinator and GOYA advisor for 17 years. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh Youth Commission.
She was a recipient of the 2015 St. Photios Award of Metropolis of Pittsburgh representing All Saints Greek Orthodox Church for her exceptional volunteer work. Irene’s passion was working with youth groups.
She was the loving wife of Steve Douglas, recently sharing 37 years of marriage together. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her three beloved sons, Sean (Reba) Douglas, Christopher (Amanda) Douglas and Matthew Douglas.
Irene was the proud Yia Yia of three grandchildren, Briley, Ariella and Dawson. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ann Papantonakis; sister-in-law, Lynne Douglas and her extended family, three nieces; Kari (Dean Heffernan), Lexie Papantonakis and Katrina Papantonakis; and two great nieces, Adalyn Heffernan and Amelia Papantonakis.
Irene was blessed with a large circle of friends and leaves many to keep her memory eternal.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to GOYA of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Canonsburg.
Friends and family are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2021, and from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021. A Trisagion Service will be held at 7 p.m., in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor, Erin E. Jones LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120.
Friends and family will also be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021, in the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 601 W. McMurray Road, with Father George Athanasiou, officiating.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
