Louis William Swan

Louis William “Bill” Swan, of East Liverpool, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, and today is walking on streets of gold.

He was born July 30, 1938, in Brave, the son of the late Louis Williams “Smokey” Swan, and Mable Cumberledge Swan.

He was a graduate of Waynesburg high school.

He relocated to Midland, where he was employed by Crucible steel for 24 years. For a short time he relocated back to the Waynesburg area, where he spent a number of years working in the family business at Mickey’s Men Store.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a man of faith and a talented singer, that took his talents to various churches where he served the Lord he loved. He was a lifelong Steeler, Penguin and Pirate fan.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela McClellan, whom he married on December 8, 1960; and a sister, Dottie Snow Tubb, of Nashville, Tenn.; he also leaves his two daughters, Natalie (Robert) Greenlee, of Clarksville, and Melanie (Jeff) Hull, of East Liverpool, Ohio.

He was a proud grandfather to Brent Alan Simmons, of East Liverpool, Ohio, Rachel Greenlee, of Clarksville, and Jordan Alana Simmons, of Baden. He was the great-grandfather to Elishah James Simmons.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Rev. Jack Swan, of East Liverpool, Ohio, Charles Swan, of Carmichaels; and a sister, Naticia Bruno, of Waynesburg.

A service will be held at the East Liverpool Church of God, 926 W. 8th Street, East Liverpool, Ohio, where a viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the hour of funeral services, on Monday, December 13, 2021, with Pastor James Massie officiating.

A second viewing will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of funeral services, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 in the Jefferson Baptist Church, 179 Pine Street, Jefferson, with Pastor Brendan Byham officiating.

Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.

Local arrangements are entrusted to the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor.
