Carolyn Hill McNeely
Carolyn Hill McNeely, 62, of Waynesburg, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Stonerise Nursing Facility, in Morgantown, W.Va., after a long, hard-fought battle with early on-set dementia.
Carolyn was born on January 18, 1959, to John B. “Jack” Hill and Joy Lee Hill in Waynesburg. As a 1977 graduate of Waynesburg Central High school, she resided in Waynesburg her entire life. She had a deep love for rescuing and caring for animals, which showed through her 17 years working at Waynesburg Animal Hospital and volunteerism as a Humane Officer with the Greene County Humane Society.
Carolyn was also very passionate about her family genealogy and gardening, while being a very skilled toll painter and artist. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, who could always make her laugh and prompted her infectious, well-known smile.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Joy; as well as a husband, Robert “Mike” Lankard.
She is survived by her children, Matthew Ryan (Johnnie) McNeely, and Cassie Nicole McNeely Legg; and her grandchildren, Millie Grace Legg, Abel Ryan McNeely, Elsie Jean McNeely, and Morgan Elise Legg; additionally, she is survived by one of the most selfless, caring and thoughtful caregivers, Delores Henry; as well as two step-children.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner / Director, 197 N. Maiden Street, Waynesburg.
Funeral services will be private with Rev. John Poling officiating.
