John M. McUmar, Jr.
John Mitchell McUmar Jr., 73, of Langeloth, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2021, at South Hills Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.
He was born July 24, 1948, in New Martinsville, W.Va., a son of the late John M. and Betty R. Morris McUmar, Sr.
John proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked for Weirton Steel as a blacksmith, retiring in 1994, after 30 years. He also trained and showed horses for over 40 years.
After retirement, John and his wife, Patricia, moved to Florida, and in 2014, they returned back to Langeloth.
On August 6, 1993, he married Patricia Davisson, who survives. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his son, John William McUmar, of Georgetown; step-daughter, Heather Mecannic, of Langeloth; brother, Dwight (Angela) McUmar, of Weirton, W.Va.; and sister, Penny (Kenneth) Lahr, of Weirton, W.Va.
A private service for the family will be held at Mercy Baptist Church, Weirton, W.Va.
