JoAnna A. Kortyna Mondin
JoAnna A. Kortyna Mondin, 89, of Burgettstown, Smith Township, passed away on, Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in her home.
JoAnna was born on January 13, 1932, in Cherry Valley, a daughter of the late John and Nellie Nakoneczny Kortyna.
Mrs. Mondin was a retired assembler for RCA and Industrial Scientific. She was also a devout member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The Christian Mothers group was a huge part of her life, she would often make pierogis with them or volunteer whenever she could.
She also loved to knit and would gather with her friends at the Presbyterian Group in Slovan.
Above all, JoAnn loved her family. Having such a large family meant there was also lots of laughter involved when they were altogether. Mrs. Mondin cherished the memories she created with each and every family member of the years, and she was so proud of all her family.
Surviving are her children, Mary (Michael) Pavilonis, August (Sarah) Mondin, John (Christine) Mondin, and Mark Mondin; grandchildren, A.J. and Phillip Mondin, John Joseph Mondin II, Melissa Piacenza, Kimberly, Michael and Emily Pavilonis; and great-grandchildren, A.J. and Trevor Mondin.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, August F. Mondin (2000); and siblings, Edward, John, and Richard Kortyna, and Theresa Cherenko.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 106 St. John Street, Midway, 724-796-3301.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021, at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Worship Site.
Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
