Martha E. Bell, 97, of Cross Creek Township, died Tuesday, December 21, 2021, in her daughter’s home, in Huntington, W.Va..

She was born March 28, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of Nehemiah Baker and Martha Jane McCoy Redd.

Mrs. Bell was a 1942 graduate of Trinity High School.

She was a member of the Hickory United Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed attending church and Sunday School.

Mrs. Bell loved watching the Steelers, gardening, and taking care of her cats.

On February 12, 1955, she married Ralph M. Bell who passed away March 30, 2016.

Surviving are a son, David Bell (Janet), of Hickory; a daughter, Martha Roenne (Rick), of Huntington, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by a daughter, Mary Margaret Bell; three brothers, John, Jim and Marion Redd; and two sisters, Sarah McCullough and Margaret Redd.

All services are private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner / Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the Hickory United Evangelical Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 97, Hickory.
