Sarah Fowler Patchin Johns
Sarah Fowler Patchin Johns, 96, of Washington, died Sunday, January 31, 2021, in the Donnell House of Concordia Hospice, Washington.
She was born February 17, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of the late Richard “R.T.” Thomas and Wilma Wiles Fowler.
Mrs. Johns was a 1941 graduate of Trinity High School and attended the Washington Women’s Seminary. She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Covenant, Washington.
She enjoyed sports, especially baseball, and was an avid reader and gardener. She was active in the Cub Scouts of America as a den mother and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In 1944, she married Leon Patchin, who died January 3, 1996. In 1965, she married Edward Johns, who survives.
Surviving are a son, Leon (Asmaa) Patchin; five daughters, Susan Yeager and Joyce Beighle, both of Washington, Elana Patchin of Pittsburgh, Beth Marsden and Jennifer (Christopher) Ralston, both of Washington; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four brothers, John, Thomas, Harry and Sam Fowler; and four sisters, Jean Hoostal, Clara Hale, Martha Majors and Juanita Peckerman.
