Gloria Jean Moore

Gloria Jean Moore, 75, formerly of Claysville and Eighty Four, passed away peacefully, February 4, 2021, at Vincentian Marian Manor, Greentree, after a lengthy illness.
She was a daughter of the late Rex and Louise Lohr of Claysville.
Jean graduated from McGuffey High School in 1964, where she enjoyed performing as a soprano in the choir. After graduation, she worked as a medical secretary for Washington Hospital. She married in 1972 and later started a family. After many years as a stay-at-home mom and housewife, Jean reentered the workforce, becoming a certified nursing assistant at Presbyterian Seniorcare in Washington.
Jean was a feisty, stubborn woman who enjoyed telling and hearing jokes, especially the inappropriate ones. She enjoyed target practice, trap shooting, driving fast and a good Scotch, not usually all together.
She had an amazing love for animals big and small and cared for many fur babies throughout her life.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Janet (Chuck); son, Tim; grandson, Spence; brother, Todd (Ronda); nieces, Jennifer (Charles) and Sarah; grandnephew, Jason; several nieces, nephews and beloved friends of many years.
Friends and family will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, in Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323, 724-663-7373, www.youngfhinc.com. Private interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Washington County Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
