Georgia Margaret “Peg” C. Flynn, 87, passed away suddenly, in her home, February 11, 2021. She was born December 3, 1933, in Washington, to E. Clare and Muriel B Cole. She was a daughter, sister, mom, Nana and GG.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Flynn; and her son, Shawn O. Flynn. She was the beloved fiance of Louis E. Snodgrass.

Peg’s claim to fame was her career as a medical assistant. Being the first certified medical assistant in Washington County, she was instrumental in organizing the Washington County Chapter of the American Association of Medical Assistants. She held many offices on local and state levels, being elected President of Pennsylvania Society of Medical Assistants, and eventually awarded life membership. She was employed by several physicians in Washington County until the age of 80 when she finally set aside her career but not her love of medical assisting.

Peg was raised at Second Presbyterian Church and as a teenager moved her membership to Third Presbyterian, “because they paid my way to camp.” It was there she met Bill in the choir. They became members at Church of the Covenant when Second and Third merged. Her love for music drew her to the choir where she enjoyed many lifelong friendships. In addition to her leadership roles of deacon and elder, Peg was employed at the church, after she retired.

She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter #409 and #404, where she held chairs and leadership roles including worthy matron. She was a member of American Legion Post #175 Ladies Auxiliary.

Just before her 80th birthday, she reunited with “an old beau”. Lou added a spark to her life. They traveled many miles together. She loved sharing their story of love reconnecting.

Family was important to Peg. She loved to gather with her family and spent many hours searching genealogical records and cemeteries for distant family members. She is survived by her fiance, Louis Snodgrass; her brother, Albert (Judy) Cole; her daughter, Colleen Molinaro (Steven), grandson J.D. Fine (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Jaleiah; her daughter, Carolyn Marengere (Richard), granddaughters, Stephanie, Rachel and Natalie Marengere; and daughter-in-law, Diane Flynn.

Due to social distancing, a private gathering will be held to celebrate her life and the sure and certain hope of her resurrection.

Arrangements are entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., Washington.
