Robert V. Hodgens
Robert V. Hodgens, 83, of Washington, died Saturday, February 13, 2021, in Donnell House.
He was born April 17, 1937, in Taylorstown, a son of the late Verne O. Hodgens and Margaret Elizabeth Rush.
Mr. Hodgens graduated from Washington High School and attended Edinboro University.
A veteran, he served in the Army during the early 1960s.
He worked for 17 years as a department manager at J.C. Penney, for eight years as a manager at Town & Country Department Stores and for 20 years as a moulder at Jessop Steel.
An avid hunter, Mr. Hodgens enjoyed gardening and was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
He was Presbyterian by faith.
On September 1, 1978, he married Betty Waychoff, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Robert E. Hodgens of Clinton Township, Michigan, Daniel (Cathy) John of Charleston, South Carolina and Thomas (Melissa) John of Raleigh, North Carolina; three daughters, Michelle R. (Randy) Gipe of Harrisburg, Kathy A. (Craig) Godwin of Ft. Pierce, Florida and Aileen (James) Chivers of Washington; a brother, Charles E. Hodgens of California; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Andrew Vickers.
Deceased are a brother, James Hodgens; a sister, Elizabeth Vickers; and a sister-in-law, Priscilla Hodgens.
