Carol L. Martin
Carol L. Martin, 78, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021, in Presbyterian Senior Care Southmont, Washington, with her family by her side.
She was born June 13, 1942, in Webster Springs, W.Va., one of nine children of the late Parker and Pearl E. Brady.
Carol was a 1960 graduate of East Fairmont High School in Fairmont, W.Va.
On August 4, 1962, she married William L. Martin, who survives. Carol showed her devotion by accompanying her husband while he was stationed in Germany during his 20-month military tour of duty in the 1960s.
She enjoyed her main role as homemaker, but also worked for several companies including Westinghouse, Blackbox and the Observer Reporter.
Carol enjoyed crafting, singing, listening to music, and spending time with her grandchildren. She expressed her love of music as part of a singing trio that recorded an album of gospel music.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Wendy G. Boyd and her husband, Bryan E. Boyd of Somers, Conn.; a son, J. Rodney Martin and his wife, Denise L. Martin of Titusville, Fla.; grandchildren Kristin E. Martin, Brett W. Boyd and Brianne K. Boyd.
Private services will be held in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, LTD., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.
