Gloria Jane Dietz Bardella

Gloria Jane Dietz Bardella went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ January 1, 2021, at the age of 93, while a resident at Saint Paul’s Villas in Greenville.
She was born March 28, 1927, in Turtle Creek, to August F. and Margaret J. Webb Dietz.
When she was 12, the family moved to Avella, where Gloria graduated from Avella High School in 1945. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Hoop and then as a postal clerk at the Avella Post Office.
On April 12, 1958, Gloria married the love of her life, Edward B. Bardella.
Gloria worked as a teachers’ aide for the Avella Elementary Schools until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Avella Presbyterian Church where she was Sunday School Superintendent for many years and ran the annual Vacation Bible School. She was also an active member of the Washington County Women’s Aglow Fellowship.
After her retirement, Gloria moved to Saint Paul’s Cottage Colony in Greenville to be closer to her grandchildren. There she attended the Greenville Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Gloria loved spending time with family and friends, traveling the world and watching Penn State and Steelers football.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Beverly Dietz Green; and brothers, James, Thomas and Henry Dietz.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Dr. Inis Jane Bardella (husband Robert R. McConnell) of Fayetteville Ark.; her son, Edward (wife Betty-Jean) Bardella Sr. of Jamestown; her grandchildren, Allison (husband Joshua) Beichner and Edward (wife Olivia) Bardella Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Audrey Bardella and Sebastian Bardella; and many nieces and nephews.
Private funeral arrangements are being handled by Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., Avella, with burial in West Point Cemetery, Avella.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gloria’s memory to Saint Paul’s Good Samaritan Fund, Attn: Development Department, 339 East Jamestown Road, Greenville, PA 16125.
