Leonard Merrill Winkleblech

Leonard Merrill “Wink” Winkleblech, 78, of Bentleyville, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020, in Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born March 3, 1942, in Monongahela, a son of the late Byron M. and Charlene Lusk Winkleblech.

Mr. Winkleblech was a 1960 graduate of Bentleyville High School.

He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army and a veteran of the Army National Guard for 36 years before retiring.

He was employed as a serviceman with Equitable Gas Co. for more than 35 years retiring in 1996.

Leonard was a member of Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church and Bentleyville American Legion Post # 165.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and mowing grass. He loved football and served as a coach for many years in the Bentworth Midget Football League.

On June 30, 1962, he married Beverly J. Deems Winkleblech, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Keith Winkleblech (Tammy) of Canonsburg and Troy Winkleblech (Fran) of Somerset Township; four grandchildren, Haley, Abby, Austin and Aydin; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a son, Jay M. Winkleblech; and a sister, M. Joanne Brock.

Funeral services are private and under the direction of Greenlee’s Bentleyville Funeral Home. Interment will be in Maple Creek Cemetery, with Pastor John Dykstra officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church, 45 Church Road, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
