James E. Menear Jr.

James E. Menear Jr., 65, of Mount Morris, died at 1:37 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at home.

He was born Monday, June 20, 1955, in Morgantown, W.Va., a son of the late James E. Menear and Verna Rowan Menear.

Mr. Menear was a lifelong resident of Greene County. He was Christian by faith. He really loved spending time with his family, being on the farm and working the land. He raised and showed horses all of his life and loved playing the guitar. He spent most of his working years as a coal miner and a farmer.

His wife, Pamela McCracken Menear, whom he married March 21, 1977, survives. Also surviving are his three children, Travis Menear of Charlotte, N.C., Tawnya Payha and Michael Inks of Greensburg, and Tim Eddy of Mt. Morris; five grandchildren, Haden Eddy, Meghan Eddy, Anna Kate Payha, Abby Payha and Kelcee Rupert; two sisters, Marjorie and Floyd Wolfe of Mt. Morris and Alice and Bob Perry of Bobtown; and one brother, Steve Menear of Bradenton, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation and services are to be private and held at the convenience of the family in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mount Morris, PA 15349. Private burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, 10 Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505. Information is at www.milliken-throckmortonfh.com.
