Robert Castner

Robert Castner, 74, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021, in Allegheny General Hospital of Pittsburgh.

He was born March 7, 1946, in McDonald, a son of the late Alfred Castner and Margaret Matalik Castner of Canonsburg.

Mr. Castner formerly worked as a bottler for the former Kimberland Dairy in Hickory.

He was an exceptional artist working with oils and liked painting landscapes and wildlife. He was an avid Steelers fan.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are eight sisters, Carole (Paul) Heerdink of Bloomington, Ind., Nancy (late Dave) Harmon of Burgettstown, Bonnie (Robert) Clark of Penellas Park, Fla., Marjorie (late Phil) Levato of Canonsburg, Rita (Bernie) Handerhan of Little Elm, Texas, Patricia Castner of Canonsburg, Bella (Jim) Dodd of Cambridge, Ohio, and Alice Hayes of Baltic, Ohio; three brothers, John (Stephanie) Castner of Burgettstown, and Larry and Mark Castner, both of Canonsburg; several aunts and uncles and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, Terry Castner.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitation will be limited to family and relatives at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of services, Saturday, January 9, with the Rev. Ben Robinson, pastor of Midway Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Raccoon Cemetery, Candor.
