Betty DeBusk Cizmek
Betty DeBusk Cizmek, 98, of Washington, formerly of Bentleyville, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, in Southmont of Presbyterian Care of Washington.
She was born April 3, 1922, in Ellsworth, a daughter of the late Adelbert T. and Joella Crouch Harris.
Betty was employed at the Bentleyville Public Library from 1979 to 2001.
She was a member of the Bentleyville United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, the Elizabeth Class and the Pioneer Womens Club of Bentleyville. She was currently a member of the Laboratory Presbyterian Church. She was very strong in her faith and was always willing to serve in any capacity where she was needed.
Betty enjoyed reading and photography and had a love for animals. Most of all she loved her family.
Surviving are two children, Linda S. Goblesky (Joe) of Cokeburg and Brad DeBusk (Lee) of Washington; six grandchildren, Jillian DeBusk, Erin DeBusk, Melissa Easton (David), Bethany Perry (David), Michael Cursi (Brittany) and Ashley Hamberger (Jed); four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Riley, Nolan and Gracyn; stepdaughter Cynthia Jones (Ellis); stepson Daryl Cizmek; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her first husband, Roscoe C. DeBusk Jr., who died March 17, 1979; her second husband, George Cizmek who died July 6, 2013; a daughter, Gina Cursi; two sisters, Virginia Downs and Lillian Bush; a son-in-law, Nick Cursi Jr.
Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of Greenlee’s Bentleyville Funeral Home. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made the Bentleyville Public Library.
