Margaret E. Sanders, 94, of Washington, formerly of Brownsville, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, under the loving care of those at Strabane Woods.

She was born November 13, 1926, in Bentleyville, a daughter of the late Joseph and Jane Percy Pirt.

Mrs. Sanders was a graduate of Bentleyville High School and Shadyside School of Nursing.

Margaret was a dedicated nurse taking care of many over the years. She was employed as a Registered Nurse in Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, a surgical nurse in the former Brownsville General Hospital and was the head of the Infirmary of California State College for many years.

Mrs. Sanders was a Steeler fan and also enjoyed shopping, crocheting, knitting, going to dances and traveling abroad with her husband.

Surviving is a daughter, Cathie Boni (Fred) of Washington; two grandchildren, Scott Boni of Pittsburgh and Brad Boni (Kendra) of Washington; three great-grandchildren, Jaden, Abram and Audrina Boni.

Deceased is her husband, Lloyd S. Sanders, who died November 26, 1991; two sisters, Jane Shonts and Dorothy Grimm.

Funeral services are private and under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., Beallsville.
