Clay McAdoo, 73, of Wellsburg, W.Va., passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021, in Trinity Hospital, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born January 17, 1947, in Washington, to the late George and Margaret Bates McAdoo.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a retiree of the City of Wellsburg at the water treatment plant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John; sister Annie Ohler; and mother-in-law Imogene Patterson.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Patterson McAdoo, whom he married September 26, 1981; his son, Travis and fiancee Katie Moore of Follansbee, W.Va.; a brother, Alan and significant other Nancy Pritt of Avella; and a sister, Karen Stimeling of Claysville; three brothers-in-law, Bob Ohler, Ed Patterson, Tim Patterson; several nieces and nephews.
Clay loved to farm the family farm, motorcycle riding, auctions, flea markets and yard sales.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, in Reasner Funeral Home, 1515 Charles Street, Wellsburg. Visitation continues from 9 until the 11 a.m. service Thursday, January 14, in the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Lish officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg.
