Carolyn Jane Cherrington Williams

Carolyn Jane Cherrington Williams, 85, of West Alexander, formerly of Mt. Lebanon and Baldwin, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, January 9, 2021, at her daughter’s home.

She was born October 5, 1935, a daughter of the late John O. and Ruth E. Krieg Cherrington.

Carolyn was lovingly raised from adolescence to adulthood by her aunt, Marie R. Krieg of Baldwin Township. She was a 1955 graduate of Baldwin High School.

Throughout her life, she was active in several organizations such as the Mt. Lebanon Junior Women’s Club, Mt. Lebanon Band Builders, Girl Scouts and the Red Hat Society. She was a collector of antiques, had a special talent for floral arranging and interior decorating and was always impeccably dressed. She was a lover of flowers, cats, wild birds and all that nature had to offer. She loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and old Westerns.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt, Marie R. Krieg; former husband David J. Williams; and son-in-law Richard A. Scott II.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lynne M. Williams Scott of Washington and Laurie B. Williams (Bill) Riggle of West Alexander; granddaughters Elizabeth and Hannah Riggle of West Alexander and Marisa Siegler (Kyle) Mauldin of Villa Rica, Ga.; grandson Richard A. Scott III of Washington; cousin Dottie Millington of Tallahassee, Fla.; and companion John Marticek of Carnegie.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
