Elizabeth Telesko Demsher
Elizabeth “Lizzy” Telesko Demsher, 88, of Houston, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 13, 2021, in Townview Heath and Rehabilitation Center. She was born February 19, 1932, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late George and Anna Samerecka Telesko Sr.
Mrs. Demsher lived in Houston and was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church.
On September 15, 1956, she married the love of her life, Richard L. “Dick” Demsher, who passed away Sunday July 7, 2019, after 62 years of marriage.
Elizabeth enjoyed working in her home and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an excellent bowler and loved rooting for the Pittsburgh Penguins. She and her husband, Dick enjoyed taking rides together, exploring new places.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her son, Ronald R. Demsher and wife Donna of Boston, Mass.; daughter Rene E. O’Brien and husband Bobby of Washington; grandsons Mike and Nick Demsher; sister Helen (Connie) Senkinc of Canonsburg and Margaret Woycio of New Kensington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are three brothers, George, Michael and John “JT” Telesko; two sisters, Julie Kern and Ann Terpin.
OSPTA Hospice and Townview aides and nurses provided wonderful care.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 15, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 601 Boone Avenue, Canonsburg, time to be announced.
Private interment will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
