Gary Lee Powers
Gary Lee Powers, 61, of Avella, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021, in the Donnell House, Washington.
He was born July 2, 1959, in Washington, a son of Delores Martin Powers of Avella and the late Joseph I. Powers.
Gary was a 1979 graduate of Avella High School and was employed by his family business, Powers Auto Crushing in Avella from 1979 until it closed in 2015.
He was a lifelong resident of Avella and a member of Avella Presbyterian Church.
Gary was a member of Centennial Lodge #544 of Carnegie, where he was a 3rd Degree Mason.
Gary was an avid antique collector, especially Avella Lincoln National Bank memorabilia and antique cars. He loved car cruises and enjoyed playing cards with his mom.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Alix Powers; two brothers, Joseph W. (Sue) Powers of Avella and James (Kim) Powers of Joffre; two sisters, Linda (Dennis) Halmi and Patty Cutlip, both of Avella; nephews, Michael Cutlip, Zachary and Tyler Halmi; and niece, Shelby Powers.
All funeral arrangements are private.
Burial will be in West Point Cemetery, Avella.
