Family man and Realtor, Patrick James Tracy, 65, died Saturday, July 10, 2021, in Charleston, S.C., with his beloved wife, Kathy at his side just as they have been since they were teenagers in Annandale, Va.

Born March 5, 1956, in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., Pat was a son of Thomas Joseph Tracy and Mary Clara Beall Tracy.

He will be remembered for his integrity, infectious smile, and in the lives of what he felt to be his greatest achievement, his family.

Always eager to help others, Pat was a man of ideas and projects. With energy and optimism, Pat relished a challenge whether managing a difficult negotiation at work or figuring a way to build an ice hockey rink in the backyard of their farmhouse for his sons. He thrived on enthusiasm and finding solutions to life’s problems.

Upon graduation from James Madison University, Pat launched his professional career in Roanoke, Va., as a People’s Life Insurance agent, after which he took a position in the Sales and Advertising Division of Landmark Communications in Norfolk, Va. Kathy and Pat then moved to Peters Township, where they raised their family and Pat established Pittsburgh Direct, an alternative delivery company.

A cancer diagnosis at the age of 40 forced Pat to reassess life’s choices, and he began a 25-year career as a commercial real estate broker with several different firms including Langholz, Wilson, Ellis and Colliers. At the time of his death, he was a principal with TARQUINCoRE, LLC. He served as president of both the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and Toastmasters of Virginia Beach, Va. However, Pat’s purest pleasures in life came from relationships and people.

He taught CCD to seventh-grade students at St. Benedict the Abbot Church and treasured coaching his sons in soccer. A true highlight was his “Men’s Book Group” that met for more than 25 years, although they never read a single book.

A large family is left to celebrate his memory; his wife of 42 years and high school sweetheart, Kathleen Fleger Tracy; sons, Patrick David Tracy, Christopher Edward Tracy and wife Katie, and Timothy Thomas Tracy and wife Rachel; daughter, Cassandra Jackson and husband Kevin; and the little ladies that brought light to his eyes, his granddaughters, Adelaide, Elinor and Miller; and grandsons, William and Connor. Also surviving are his six siblings, Tom Tracy (Sandy), Mike Tracy (Patti), Kathy Baer (John), Colleen DiFilippo (David), Peggy Lanier (John) and John Tracy (Kathy); and 19 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Missy Tracy.

Visitation will be held in Beinhauer Family Funeral Home in McMurray, from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 18. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 19, in St. John XXIII Parish, St. Benedict the Abbot Church.

The family suggests expressions of sympathy be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.

Pat left too soon, but he left us all with inspiration to embrace life and one another to the fullest as he did so well.
