Marcel Arthur Chauvet
Marcel Arthur “Marc” Chauvet, 92, of Cecil Township, was called to heaven Monday, May 31, 2021. Marcel was born November 11, 1928, in Sturgeon, to Alfred and Jane Cadic Chauvet, the youngest of nine siblings.
Marcel proudly worked at Russell Industries for 32 years as a maintenance superintendent.
He was a member since 1975 of the Oakdale Free & Accepted Masonic Lodge #669, where he was past trustee and treasurer. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and involved with the Shrine, Knights Templar and the Consistory. Marcel was a very active member of Noblestown United Presbyterian Church, being a treasurer and trustee for many years.
Marcel lived a selfless Christian life always helping any family or friend that he could without hesitation. Marcel was passionate about gardening, hunting, fishing and celebrating Father’s Day weekend at camp with his sons and grandsons. Family was the most important part of Marcel’s life.
Marcel and Shirley Chauvet were married after a six week courtship in 1957 and on June 21st they would have been married for 64 years.
Marcel A. and Shirley Chauvet were inseparable and they raised three sons, Marcel S. (Lynne) Chauvet, Michael (Lisa) Chauvet and Matthew P. (Jessica) Chauvet. They were blessed to have seven grandchildren, Marcel Christopher (Amber), Ryan (Katie), Blake, Matthew T. (Megan), Nicole (deceased), Alex and Meghan Chauvet; as well as six great-grandchildren, Laila, Marcel Vincent, Barrett, Greyson, Aubrie and Dalton. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 3, in the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 4, with the Rev. Dr. Page Creach officiating.
Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 3.
