Lindsey Earl Ross, 72, passed away in North Strabane Rehab and Wellness Center, May 25, 2021. Born in New Castle March 16, 1949, he was a son of the late Earl and Robbie Ross. After graduating from New Castle High School, he served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1971.

Lindsey was employed as a youth counselor at the Mel Blount Youth Home, Try Again Homes and the City Mission in Washington. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and spending time with the grandchildren of his partner, Sharon Kelley.

Lindsey will be sadly missed by his brother, Harold (Andrea) Ross of Calif.; sister, Crystal Lewis of Va.; partner/best friend, Sharon “Sherry’ Kelley and her eight grandchildren of Washington; Yvonne (Robert) Clark of New Castle; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, with a military salute from the U.S. Navy.

Arrangements are entrusted to Charlotte A. Sheffield Funeral Home, 454 Chestnut Street, New Castle.
