Michael Sterling Barker, 68, of Avella, died Saturday, June 5, 2021.
He was born April 22, 1953, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Lawrence and Betty Barker.
Mike graduated from Montour High School and was a member of the Air National Guard for 10 years. He was previously employed by Linsley Enterprises but was recently retired from Matrix North America.
He loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, carving, and most recently, baking.
On August 11, 1972, he married his high school sweetheart, Dottie Porta, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Dawn (Steve) Gray of Seabrook, Texas, Christopher Barker of Avella, Beau (Melissa) Barker of Broadview Heights, Ohio, Amber (Mohamed) Barker-Lakhlifi of Cross Creek; grandchildren, Zachary and Cameron Gray, Paige and Mikayla Fino, Sabrina and Jenna Lakhlifi and Jillian Barker; brothers, Scott and P.J. Barker; sisters, Robin Morgan, Lari Skowron and Tracy Pascarella.
Per Mike’s request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Cross Creek Park, shelter 3, at 2 p.m. August 22.
