Ruth was born October 10, 1948, in New Eagle, a daughter of the late William and Margaret Butler Thomas.
On July 18, 1974, Ruth married Max E. Brozik, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Max Brozik II (Angela) of Nemacolin, Jodie Brozik (William Simmons) of Rices Landing, RayLynn and Rylee Brozik, both of Nemacolin; a stepson, David Brozik (Cindi) of Bakersfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Speelman of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Lucy Harbarger; and a brother-in-law, Bill Speelman.
Ruth graduated from Carmichaels Area High School Class of 1966, and formerly worked at the Curry Home as a nurses aide.
She loved to cook, and collect cook books and teddy bears. The pride and joy of her life was looking after her large family.
Ruth was an honorary member of the Nemacolin Volunteer Fire Department in support of her firemen.
It’s difficult to sum up a life in a few lines; pull bits of facts together that lead to this single sentence. She was a good wife and mother.
Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. hour of service Friday, June 11, in the Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320, (724)966-5100, with Pastor Gump officiating.
Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
As we celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday, remember all those fathers and mothers. As the old saying goes “They gave their todays for our tomorrows.”
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to RayLynn or Rylee Brozik, or to the Nemacolin Volunteer Fire Department.
