Paul H. Dunn Jr.
Paul H. Dunn Jr., of Venetia, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 12, 2021, after a long fought battle with cancer. He was born December 25, 1953, in Greensburg, a son of Paul H. Dunn Sr. and Helen Veronica Lukacs.
Paul was a 1972 graduate of Hempfield High School and graduated in 1976 from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in civil engineering. He was employed as a structural engineer by Cintar Inc. in Glenshaw.
Paul was married to his college sweetheart, Linda Rupp and would have celebrated 44 years of marriage June 25.
He was a loving and devoted father to Nicole Marie Basile and her husband, the late Samuel A. Basile III, Jason Daniel Dunn and his wife, Stefanie Camille Altieri Dunn, and a proud and adoring grandpap to his three grandchildren, Samuel Joseph Basile, Alisa Nicole Basile, and Gabriella Daveigh Dunn. He is also survived by five brothers, Charles Dunn and wife Pam of Johnstown, Patrick Dunn and wife Pam of Sorrento, Fla., Timothy Dunn and wife Nancy of Greensburg, Michael Dunn and wife Diana of Greensburg, and Raymond Dunn and wife Patty of Las Vegas, Nev.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Along with his son-in-law, Sam, he was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents Raymond and Imelda Dunn, and John and Regina Lukacs.
Paul loved spending time with family and friends, working with wood (completing remodeling projects in his home and making furniture for his grandchildren), participating in Odyssey of the Mind (as a judge and problem captain), working with Boy Scouts, and was active in his church community. He also found pleasure in providing his family with sometimes funny, often “corny” jokes to the delight of his grandchildren. Paul was respected and admired by those who knew him for his determination, perseverance and positive attitude.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2820 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317. The family requests that visitors wear face masks. A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, in Peters Creek Baptist Church, 6300 Library Road, South Park Township, PA 15129. Internment following the service at Woodruff Memorial Park, 2095 Washington Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317.
