Minnie Suska
Minnie Suska, 94, of McMurray, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 20, 2021, in her home, with her devoted husband by her side. She was born October 6, 1926, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Valentino and Jennie Caggese Scarsellato.
Minnie was a graduate of Canonsburg High School Class of 1945 and studied at Penn Commercial business school for two years. She lived in the Canonsburg, McMurray area her entire life and was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Canonsburg. Minnie was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother.
On June 10, 1950, she married Frank Suska, who survives after 71 years of marriage.
Also left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved children, two sons, James F. (Alice) Suska of West Milford, N.J., and Mark F. (Judy) Suska of West Chester; two daughters, Patricia A. (Thomas) Coles of Trafford and Karen J. (Rocco) Prologo of Oakdale; brother Val (Jean) Scarsellato of Canonsburg; along with nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two brothers, Sebastian “Butch” and Carl Scarsellato.
Friends and family are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 25, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26, followed by Divine Liturgy celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Byzantine Church, with the Reverend Joseph Raptosh as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested for St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church building fund.
