Elizabeth Sherlow Magnetta, 81, formerly of Washington, left this world Friday, May 7, 2021, in Moore, Okla. Elizabeth was born in Edinburgh, Scotland March 22, 1940, to Robert Sherlow and Elizabeth Sherlow.

She is survived by her son, Michael Magnetta and his wife, Jamie; three grandsons, Cameron Magnetta and fiancee Mikyla Gibson, Hunter Magnetta, and Michael P. Magnetta and fiancee Hailey Harper; two great-grandchildren, Mason Magnetta and Everly Magnetta; sister Rosalind Hayes of Scotland; and her nieces, Nikki Owens, Kelly Hayes and Kristi Buchanan; and nephew Alan Hayes. She also leaves with us many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence “Larry” M. Magnetta Jr.; her mother and father; and sister Jeanette Cramer.

Elizabeth met and married her husband of 40 years in Edinburgh, Scotland, and moved to the States shortly after to begin her adventures here. She was very proud of her Scottish roots and loved sharing them with her family.

Elizabeth really loved spending time with family and friends, but her son and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved puzzles and puzzle trivia games. Her favorite game was Scrabble but got extra practice when she worked her crossword puzzle books. She won every time! Elizabeth really liked the challenge of her favorite TV shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Her love of puzzles was only trumped by her love of Thunder basketball. Knowing very little about basketball did not stop her from cheering them on every game.

She was a kind-hearted and giving person, who was feisty and had a lot of spunk. She loved to dance and sing and laugh. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Interment at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, Okla. Services under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, Okla.
