Marion B. Mazutis, 81, of Bentleyville, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021, in Donnell House Washington.
She was born April 7, 1939, in Bentleyville, a daughter of the late Anthony and Julia Kotcher Rocco.
Mrs. Mazutis was a 1956 graduate of Bentworth High School and also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from California University of Pennsylvania.
She taught first grade Special Education in the Trinity School District for more than 40 years retiring in 2001.
Marian was a lifelong member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Bentleyville Campus, and Catholic Daughters of America, and also made pierogies to raise funds for the church. She was also a member of Public School Employees’ Retirement System and the Bentleyville Lioness Club.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, animals and especially loved her family and church family.
Surviving are two daughters, Wendy Mazutis Spicer (Kevin) and Amy Mazutis, both of Carlisle; one granddaughter, Erika Spicer Mason (Grant) of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Lillian Bercosky of Marianna; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Peter P. Mazutis, who died December 26, 1999; and two brothers, Anthony Rocco Jr. and Charles Rocco.
Funeral services are private and under the direction of Greenlee’s Bentleyville Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville. Interment will be in Horn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Katharine Drexel Parish, an animal shelter of one’s choice, or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
