Wanda Fife

Wanda Faye Dietrich Fife, 97, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior Monday, March 22, 2021, in Standish Assisted Living, under the loving care of JoAnn Standish and her staff.

She was born July 6, 1923, in Houston, a daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy McKenna Dietrich.

Wanda was a graduate of Chartiers High School.

She was primarily a homemaker, but worked for some time at RCA, Meadowlands. She loved to babysit for friends and family.

Wanda loved the simple things in life, gardening, animals, music, a good cup of coffee, and fellowship with family and friends. Her laugh was vibrant, her zest for life contagious.

She was married to Robert A. Fife, who died September 21, 1990.

She is the last of her immediate family. Deceased are a brother, Alex M. Dietrich; two sisters, Grace Schmidt and Dorothy Patsch; and her beloved dachshunds, Ginger and Cookie.

She was a beloved aunt of a nephew, Dr. Thomas (Lisa) Dietrich; four nieces, Sandy Fender, Jackie Deco, Marilyn Stevens and Debbie (Brad Walton) Dietrich; four great-nephews; six great-nieces; eight great-great nephews; and seven great-great-nieces, and one more on the way.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Wednesday, March 24, in the Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Douglas M. Jones, supervisor, Dr. Lawrence K. Donovan, director, with the Reverend Dr. Jeff Diedrich officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Washington Area Humane Society, 1527 PA-136, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
