Dolores Mason

Dolores Mason, 87, of Vestaburg, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021, in her home.

She was born October 18, 1933, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Harold and Ruby Newmier Rhodes.

Dolores was a 1951 graduate of Centerville High School.

She was employed as a seamstress in the Waynesburg Sewing Center for 25 years.

Dolores was a member of the Vestaburg Baptist Church.

Mrs. Mason enjoyed gardening, flower gardening, baking, cooking, canning and traveling to the beach and Disney World for vacation.

On July 8, 1964, she married Richard L. “Dick” Mason, who survives. Together they celebrated 57 years of marriage and were foster parents for more than 30 years.

Surviving are four children, Debra “Debbie” Hughes of Vestaburg, Christine Mason of California, Ronnie Mason (Stacy) of Waynesburg and Cindy Wishart (Mike) of Summersville, S.C.; stepson Dave Mason (Mary Ann) of Brownsville; four grandchildren, Michael and Justin Hughes, Rider and Sebastian Wishart; three great-grandchildren, Mason, Oliver and Nyko; two sisters, Mary Ellen Neel of Maryland and Lola Bowers (Rich) of Vestaburg; along with several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a son, William Mason; three brothers, Harold, Bob and George Rhodes.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, in Westland Cemetery.

Arrangements by Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., Fredericktown. In Accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
