Patricia Gail Chaney McGlennon was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, May 2, 2021. She was born May 1, 1958, in Amory, Miss., to Dale Chaney and Dorothy Howard Chaney. She spent her formative years in Greenville, Miss.

Pat received a B.S. in Biology from Millsaps College, Jackson, Miss., in 1981. Pat worked for the Jackson Police Department Crime Laboratory as a forensic serologist. She was trained in forensic biochemistry through the University of Virginia at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Va.

On March 17, 1990, she married Patrick McGlennon at the Cathedral of Saint Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Jackson. She began her married life in New Jersey and was employed by the New Jersey State Police Crime Laboratory, Little Falls, as a forensic drug chemist.

In 1992, she gave up her laboratory career to become a mother, which she consider to be the most important and cherished role she had in life. She relished the opportunity to plan special events and entertain family and friends. She possessed true “Southern Grace and Charm” and she had an infectious laugh and a zest for life.

In 1997, the family moved to Peters Township, Washington County, and Pat became involved in her children’s educational, athletic, music and religious activities. She enjoyed her volunteer work with the social committee of the Parent -Teacher Association at Pleasant Valley Elementary School. She served as a faith formation instructor (CCD – Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) at Saint Benedict the Abbot Parish for several years. Pat was a self-published Christian author and blogger as well as a Christian life counselor. She considered her research and the publication of her book, “Last Call for the Church,” to be a calling from God.

Pat fought valiantly for almost six years against the cancer, which would eventually take her life. She was surrounded by her loving family in her home when that fight ended, peacefully. She was comforted by the knowledge that she would see her Redeemer’s face in Heaven.

She was predeceased by her beloved stepfather, Charles Baldwin Sr.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Baldwin; brother Charles Baldwin Jr.; and cherished aunt, Jean Edwards, all of Lee County, Miss. She is also survived by her husband of 31 years, Patrick “Rick” McGlennon; son Robert A. McGlennon (Kelsey Marshall); daughter Regan E. McGlennon; and son John P. McGlennon (Kelli O’Connor), all of McMurray; along with dearest friends Henry and Veronica Yocco and family.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, in Pittsburgh Cremation Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, (724) 260-5546.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Pat’s name to the American Cancer Society.
