Richard V. Guthrie Sr.

Richard V. “Dick” Guthrie Sr., 80, of Scenery Hill, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 6, 2021, in his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born August 27, 1940, in Washington, a son of the late Roy and Ollie Knox Guthrie.

Mr. Guthrie was a graduate of Ellsworth High School and Christian by faith.

He worked at Allegheny Ludlum, formerly Jessop Steel, from where he retired. He was an electrician by trade.

In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Mr. Guthrie was a member of the Keystone Club and a lifetime member of the Arms Club, both in Washington.

On May 14, 1997, in Las Vegas, Nev., he married the love of his life, Mary Jane Guthrie, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Stacy Rogers and Melissa (Alan) Rogers, both of Washington; seven grandchildren, Dalton, Cody, Colton, Whitney, Cameron, Ciana and Presley Rogers; a great-grandson, Jameson Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two sisters, Margaret Polm and Louise Poling.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, with Pastor Frank Menhart officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Scenery Hill.
