John Alvin Stoneking
John Alvin Stoneking, 76, of Greensboro, passed away at 8:58 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021, in the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. He was born July 1, 1944, in Griffitsville, W.Va., a son of the late John M. and Juanita Roberts Stoneking.
Mr. Stoneking retired in 2006 as a tow motor operator from Parker-Hannifin Corporation, Willowick, Ohio. He enjoyed shooting pool and was a member of the Bobtown Polish Club and a social member of American Legion Post 992, Mount Morris, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6303, Greensboro.
Surviving are a brother, Kenneth G. Stoneking (Paula) of Mount Morris; a sister, Teresa A. Pierce (Ray) of Willoughby; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Carolyn Serrano; and a nephew, Kenneth G. Stoneking Jr.
Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, in the Yoskovich Funeral Home (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Gale Cobb officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a veterans service organization of the donor’s choice.
