Linda S. Evers, 79, of McDonald, died Sunday, May 9, 2021, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 26, 1941, and raised in New Bethlehem, a daughter of the late Gerald and Pauline Smith.

She is the widow of Paul B. Evers of Mt. Lebanon, whom she married April 6, 1968.

Linda will be remembered as being an exceptional mother and friend to many. Her favorite thing was to host and spend time with family and friends.

She graduated from Redbank Valley High School and was trained as a radiographer at the Kittanning Hospital School of Radiology. She retired after a full career in this medical profession, but was most proud of being a homemaker and raising her family. She loved to support her two grandchildren in everything they do and especially enjoyed attending their many sporting events.

She also enjoyed travelling to eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida to visit family and friends. Linda loved gardening and tending to her many plants and flowers as well as watching the birds and scenery at the lake.

She was generous with her volunteer time with McDonald Meals on Wheels and McDonald Heritage Public Library, where she took much pride and enjoyed many friendships. She was also an active member of the Midway United Methodist Church including support of United Methodist Women. Linda also enjoyed her time with the Red Hat Society.

Surviving are two sons, Todd P. (Vicki J. Jones) Evers of Burgettstown and Jason C. (Debbie) Evers of Oakdale; two granddaughters, Mackenzie and Delaney Evers; and two brothers, Paul (Jean) Smith and Rodger (Kathy) Smith.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, in Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13. Interment will be in Allegheny Memorial Cemetery, Allison Park.

The family suggests memorials be made to Midway United Methodist Church or Heritage Public Library.
