Roger Joseph Turk
Roger J. Turk, 84, of McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Township, passed Saturday, May 8, 2021.
He was born December 21, 1936, in Sheboygen, Wis., a son of John and Emma Strupek Turk.
Roger was a Midway High School graduate, Class of 1955. He worked for the Pennsylvania Air National Guard 171st Air Refueling Wing for more than 40 years. He retired as a chief master sargent in 1996.
On July 6, 1961, he married Carole L. Montgomery, who survives.
Mr. Turk was a member of the Hickory U.P.E.C. in Hickory and the Chartiers Masonic Lodge #297 in Canonsburg for more than 50 years.
Roger loved cutting the grass, tending to his property and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are four children, Tracy Peace of McDonald, Roger Jeffrey Turk of Harrisburg, Michael (Rhonda) Turk of Hickory and Lori (Scott) Painter of Coraopolis; three brothers, John, James and Richard (Georgeanne) Turk; a sister-in-law, Lila Mae of McDonald; nine grandchildren, James and Melissa Peace, Bryce, Gracie, MacKenzie, Nathan and Madison Turk; Zachary and Ryan Painter; three great-grandchildren, Ann, Jamie and Joey Peace; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Gilbert Turk.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 13, in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057, where services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, May 14. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
Memorial contributions in Roger’s name can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
