Johanna Macugoski
Johanna “Jennie” Macugoski, 93, of Avella, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 12, 2021, with her son Mark by her side, in Country Meadows Retirement Communities, Bridgeville.
Jennie was born June 24, 1927, in Cedar Grove, a daughter of the late Anthony and Justina Ramaka Shore.
She was a lifelong member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church of Avella, where she was very involved in the Christian Mothers organization.
Jennie loved to Polka dance, bird watch, garden and travel. She was a talented baker and was known for her homemade buns. Jennie loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play in the leaves in her yard.
On August 26, 1950, she married Steve Macugoski, who passed away July 29, 2002.
Surviving are a daughter, Bernadine (Charles) Hayes of Steubenville, Ohio; three sons, Stephen Macugoski of Canonsburg, Alan (Kerry) Macugoski of Monongahela and Mark Macugoski (Gwen Bruno-Menzer) of Midway; four grandchildren, Mandy (Adam) Gailey, Melanie (Justin) Henderson, Anna (Evan) Frounfelker and Eli Macugoski; eight great-grandchildren, Abby, Alivia, Alaina and Adam Gailey, Bennett and Caden Henderson and Lydia and Silas Frounfelker.
Deceased, in addition to her husband of 51 years, are two brothers, Anthony and Edward Shore; and three sisters, Stella Tomalonis, Helen DiCenzi and Bessie Stajduhar.
Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 14, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312.
Funeral Mass is private. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Avella.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Country Meadows Co-Worker Fund at 830 Cherry Drive, Hershey, PA 17033.
