Catherine E. Chambers
Catherine E. “Cathy” Chambers, 72, of Washington, died Friday, April 23, 2021, in the Washington Hospital.
She was born August 4, 1948, in Washington, a daughter of the late William and Isabella Schwingle Hardie.
A graduate of Trinity High School, Cathy was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Mrs. Chambers had worked at the Maiden Street Foodland for 30 years, and for 10 years in the cafeteria at Charles County School.
Cathy enjoyed crafts of all kinds, baking for every holiday, and fund raising for the Special Olympics.
On August 28, 1981, she married Gary Chambers, who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Kimberly (Justin) Truby of Waldorf, Md.; a sister, Ruth Miles of Washington; five grandchildren, Madison, Alexander, Emma, Sara, and Bethany; a sister-in-law, Nardis Hardie; and her best friend, Sue Hewitt.
Deceased are a daughter, Mandy Sue Chambers; and her brother, Richard Hardie.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the time of a blessing service, Saturday, May 15, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Father John Lynam as celebrant.
