Diane Toth McKay
Diane Toth McKay, 66, of Prosperity, formerly of Washington, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 12, 2021, in UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 20, 1955, in Washington, a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Katherine Smith Toth.
Mrs. McKay was a 1972 graduate of Trinity High School. Early in life she worked at her family’s business, Toth’s Dairy Queen and Sizzle Kitchen on West Chestnut Street in Washington. Later in life she became employed at the Washington Shop N Save in the customer service department.
Mrs. McKay enjoyed cooking, baking and bonfires. She also enjoyed watching Steeler games with her husband. Mrs. McKay loved her rescue dogs and cats. She always enjoyed when people would compliment her on her beautiful blue eyes. What she enjoyed most in life was spending time with her family. She was a kind and gentle soul who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
On April 12, 2002, she married Mike McKay, who survives. Also surviving is her former husband, Michael J. Shymchyk of Prosperity; two daughters, Jennifer L. Charles of Prosperity and Justine R. (Geno) Pisciottano of McMurray; two sisters, Beverly A. (Ronald) Lewis of Washington and Kimberly A. Toth of Washington; and a granddaughter, Jazmyn A. Charles of Prosperity.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of a funeral service, Saturday, May 15, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor / director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. Interment will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
