Virginia R. Six
Virginia R. Six, 81, of Washington, and formerly of Wind Ridge, died at 1:50 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2021 in the Donnell House, Washington, after being in failing health for the past several years.
She was born February 4, 1940, in Wind Ridge, a daughter of the late Harry L. and Evelyn Sanders Burns.
Mrs. Six had resided in the Wind Ridge area prior to moving to Washington and Prosperity areas where she had resided all of her adult life and was a 1958 graduate of West Greene High School.
She was a member of the Mt. Herman Baptist Church.
Mrs. Six was last employed by the Thomas Campbell Apartments, in Washington as a caregiver for several years prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed picture puzzles, reading and square dancing as long as her health permitted.
Mrs. Six was the companion of the late James Nixon for approximately five years prior to his death.
On April 27, 1963 she married William A. Six who died August 10, 1998.
Surviving are a granddaughter, Cheyanne (Corey) Thomas of Washington; two great- granddaughters, Ryleigh and Oaklee Thomas; a sister, Sara Sprowls of Washington; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a daughter, Bonnie Matson who died July 17, 2017; a sister, Opal L. Rush; three brothers, Lloyd, J. Walter and Robert Burns; a nephew Gary Burns.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, in the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., in Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181. Where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 19, 2021 with Pastors Steve Ramey and Dave Decker co-officiating. Interment will follow in Enon Cemetery, Richhill Twp., Greene County, Pa.
