Anthony P. McGrew

Anthony P. McGrew, 75, of Houston, died Saturday, May 15, 2021.

He was born Monday, August 6, 1945, in McKeesport, a son of the late Anthony Medvidovich and Grace (Troise) Medvidovich McGrew.

Mr. McGrew was an earth science professor at California University of Pennsylvania and an avid supporter of Cal U athletics and everything Cal U.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Harold McGrew.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, Kathleen McGrew of Houston; daughter Melanie McGrew; sisters Joyce Bucy of West Elizabeth, Phyllis (Thomas) Martino of McKeesport; brothers Robert McGrew of Harwinton, Conn., and Ken McGrew (Sandy Scott) of West Mifflin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, and until 11 a.m. Thursday, May 20, when funeral services will be held, with Fr. James Bump officiating, in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Anthony P. McGrew Endowed Scholarship, c/o California University of PA, 250 University Avenue, California, PA 15419.
