Kelly Ray Gump
Kelly Ray Gump, 59, of Washington, died Saturday, May 15, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was born June 15, 1961, in Washington, a son of the late Norman and Delores “Dody” Greer Gump.
Kelly graduated from Trinity High School and was self-employed as a painter and drywall finisher.
He was a member of Moose Lodge 22 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 927.
He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, hunting and fishing.
He loved being called “Pappy” and took great pride in the distinction. Watching his grandchildren’s sporting events was something he really enjoyed.
On October 17, 1981, Kelly married Valarie Scott, who survives.
Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife Valarie, are son, Justin Gump of Washington; daughter, Shannon (Matthew) Ringheisen of West Alexander; brother, Jeff Gump of Lone Pine; grandchildren, Chance, Camryn, Matthew, Mason and Noah; and many nieces and nephews.
Kelly was predeceased by his sister, LuAnn Knox.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 20, in William G. Neal Funeral Home, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, the time of service of 7 p.m., with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating.
