Albert F. Miller

Albert F. Miller, 76, of Claysville, died Tuesday, May 18, 2021, in the Washington Hospital.

He was born June 16, 1944, in Independence, a son of the late Clyde and Goldie Main Miller.

Mr. Miller was a 1962 graduate of McGuffey High School and went on to work as a mechanic for K Mart and then for Hamlin Automotive in Bridgeville.

He was a member of the West Alexander Presbyterian Church and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and sports, especially attending the sporting events of his nieces and nephews all through their grade school and high school years.

He was a member of the Golden Agers, the Friendship Club of West Finley and the Claysville Senior Center.

On October 18, 1975, in Pleasant Grove, he married Mary “Burtie” Toland, who survives.

Also surviving is a sister, Sara Higgins of Reading; nieces, Tracy Toland and Penny (David) Weaver, whom he considered children; great-nieces, Lauren (Anthony) Weaver and Alexis (Devon) Morgan; and a great-nephew, Craig Weaver, whom he considered grandchildren; great-great-nieces, Lilly Quinn and Luna Morgan; and several other nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a sister, Margaret Reed.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, with Reverend Fred W. McCloskey officiating. Interment will follow in Mount View Cemetery, Dallas, W.Va.
