William Marvin Newman Jr.
William “Bill” Marvin Newman Jr., 50, of Washington, died unexpectedly, May 15, 2021.
He was born July 31, 1970, in Washington, a son of William (Ruth Roney) Marvin Newman Sr., of Avella and Trudy Phillips Mazza of McMurray.
A graduate of Avella High School, Bill worked as a steamfitter for S&S Mechanical.
Bill enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors with friends and family. He loved living in the country, working on his property and riding his quad all over. A practical joker, Bill was always making people laugh. But more than anything, Bill adored his wife, Kelly.
On April 17, 1998, he married the love of his life, Kelly May McElhaney, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Zachary Staley Sr. of Washington, Shane Newman of Washington and Cory Newman of Washington; two daughters, Shantel (Roger Sr.) Gubanish of Strabane and Bethany Welch of Washington; two brothers, Scott (Cori) Newman of Washington and Ryan (Nikki) Newman of Avella; a sister, Paula (John) Scarfo of Eighty Four; three grandchildren, Roger Gubanish Jr., Zachary Staley Jr. and Owen Gubanish; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a stepfather, Charlie Williams.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 23, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 24, with Pastor Paul Drewer officiating.
Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
