Norma Jean Chimento
Norma Jean Chimento, 84, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 23, 2021, in McMurray Hills Manor. She was born October 16, 1936, in New Kensington, a daughter of the late Frank and Victoria Marino Toscano.
Norma lived in Canonsburg, where she was a lifetime member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish, and a member of the church choir; she sang at many weddings. Norma was a devoted homemaker who loved birds and especially time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Joni Rocco Turner of Canonsburg; her son, Michael L. (April) Rocco of Coco, Fla; her grandson, Jordan Rocco; her three dear friends, Joyce Lipari, Pat Bromley and Kay Wyras; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her first husband, Lou Rocco; and her second husband, Santo Chimento; two brothers, William and Jimmy Toscano; and four sisters, Margaret Malgott, Levia Whitehead, Elnora Romeo, Elvira Vecchi. She was the last of her immediate family.
Friends and family are welcome from 10 a.m. until 12:40 p.m., the time of departing prayers, Friday morning, May 28, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in St. Oscar Romero Parish, St. Patrick Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Private interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
